 Invented by a Dutchman in France who wanted to visualise the finished construction of his castle, KAPLA is a natural construction game made up of identical pine planks. Due to their unique size, in the ratio of 1:3:5, KAPLA planks are an innovative building block, ideal for creating a wide variety of structures. Each plank is simply placed on top of another: gravity and balance alone hold the planks in place.The game allows children to build, create and experiment using their own imagination. It stimulates creativity, encourages logical thinking, dexterity and concentration. 

Dotty Hippo review: We were pleasantly surprised by what, on first impressions, seemed to be a version of Jenga. The pine planks (responsibly sourced from renewable forests in France) were of exactly the right size and weight to make surprisingly complex creations and the instruction booklet was a great way to get into it. Patience and perseverance is key and the kids did far better than the adults. As with most things, the best games are often the simplest and we are happy to add Kapla planks to our range of fun and practical things. This challenge box is a perfect and introduction to the world of Kapla planks.. As a gift, we would recommend this for ages 5-8 and more generally as a family / grandparents bonding activity.
